A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA FOR THE DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY TO
REQUEST DISBURSEMENTS FROM THE OTHER POST EMPLOYMENT
PREFUNDING PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica (“City”) elects to participate in the Other Post Employment Prefunding Plan through CalPERS, and
WHEREAS, the purposes of the Prefunding Plan include disbursing contributed amounts and income thereon, if any, to pay for health care costs or other post employment benefits in accordance with the terms of participating employers’ plans; and
WHEREAS, the Delegation of Authority to Request Disbursements (“Delegation of Authority”), attached hereto as Exhibit 1, formalizes the method by which the City will request disbursements from the Prefunding Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica hereby delegates authority to request on behalf of the City of Santa Monica disbursements from the Other 2 Post Employment Prefunding Plan and to certify as to the purpose for which the disbursed funds will be used;
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica authorizes the City Manager or designee to file a true and correct original or certified copy of the Delegation of Authority; and
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
