CLOSED SESSION REPORT
Interim City Attorney Monica Castillo reported out City Council recessed into Closed Session at approximately 5:00 p.m. on the below items. There was one reportable action taken on Item 4.E. In a vote 3-0, with Councilmember Juarez recusing himself and Councilmember Araiza absent, Council authorized the City Manager to enter into a nonbinding letter of intent to negotiate a real property transfer of the Oil Museum property to the City of Santa Paula and to authorize negotiations of that agreement.
Mayor Crosswhite added that the City of Santa Paula is pleased with this opportunity, knowing the importance of the property to the community. The City will be working to come to terms for the transfer to take over ownership of that property. Mayor Crosswhite also announced that Chevron, through its affiliate, Union Oil Company of California, has offered to potentially donate $2,000,000 to help the City address deferred maintenance on the building as part of that potential agreement. Much of the memorabilia is also potentially part of that transfer if we are able to come to terms.
