RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE ADVISORY BOARD FOR THE SANTA ROSA TOURISM BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 36500 et seq. of the California Streets and Highways Code, the Council established the Santa Rosa Tourism Business Improvement Area Advisory Board by Resolution No. 27690 on July 27, 2010; and WHEREAS, the Council, by Ordinance No. 3946, established the Santa Rosa Tourism Business Improvement Area on August 3, 2010; and WHEREAS, the Ordinance stipulates the Advisory Board be comprised of one Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce employee, one City of Santa Rosa employee, and three Santa Rosa lodging operators, at least one of whom is employed by a full-service hotel and one by a select service hotel; and WHEREAS, Resolution RES-2018-052 set the City’s representative on the Advisory Board as the person filling the Economic Development Manager position (since reclassified to Deputy Director), and the City’s Advisory Board alternate as the person filling the Economic Development Program Specialist position; and WHEREAS, the City’s Advisory Board alternate has acted in the primary position for three years and is programmatically better positioned to actively serve in and benefit that role; and WHEREAS, the Arts and Culture Manager is equally well positioned to backfill the City’s Advisory Board alternate position vacated by the Program Specialist; and WHEREAS, the Council finds and declares that persons appointed to the Advisory Board in accordance with Council Policy 000-06 shall represent and further the interests of the Santa Rosa Tourism Business Improvement Area. / / /

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa appoints the Program Specialist of the Economic Development Division to serve as Chair representative to the Advisory Board of the Santa Rosa Tourism Business Improvement Area and appoints the Arts and Cultural Manager of such Division to serve as alternate to the Program Specialist in the event of unavailability.
