Subject: [EXTERNAL] Extension of Local emergency COVID
Date: Friday, February 4, 2022 7:31:23 AM
Council Members,
I cannot believe that you are even
considering this ... AGAIN>>
The numbers are clear, there are no
significant deaths from this malady. It has
essentially gone away. Only authoritarian
Bay area and Sonoma county are still
playing out this destructive theater, with no
measurable positive effect. The county
health officials will not share with you the
actual numbers of persons affected by any
virus nor the illnesses by those
supposedly protected by vaccine. The
Hospitals are NOT full, nor stressed in the
least. There is NO EMERGENCY !!!
Stores are closed, Churches are stifled,
local community associations are still shut
down and collapsing. This resolution
empowers retail clerks to enforce non-
effective masking of the public. They
discriminate against people and segregate
those they deem unfit. As if a piece of
cloth could stop a virus. Laughable.

This resolution continues a scare
campaign against the people and that has
bred extreme mistrust and divisiveness in
our town.

I strongly urge the Council of Santa Rosa
to catch up to the rest of the state, and
world, and end all mandates, restrictions
and do-nothing lockdowns.

It is Time.

We are DONE with this people !!
Sincerely Ray Morgan

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Public Comment on Agenda Item 3.1: Extension of Proclamation of Local Emergency COVID-19 Date: Friday, February 4, 2022 1:05:12 PM
My name is James Dalton and I am a resident of Santa Rosa and a father of four in the community. I would like to ask that you please reconsider extending this state of emergency again.

I know that the spike in cases can be concerning, but I must ask you to look at the data and consider that cases may be going up, but hospitalizations and deaths are going down. With this continuation, we will have been in a state of emergency for 2 years.

Can you please explain how extending this will benefit our citizens, what extending this state of emergency will do to affect our citizens, and why you believe continuing this state of emergency will help prevent or change the course of the COVID infection in our area.

I appreciate that this is a difficult subject to discuss. I also understand that Sonoma County as a larger governing agency has it's own standards in place. There does not seem any benefit to our city in extending further a state of emergency which directly impacts public policy and public health decisions. We must return to the normal flow of our city as we now understand this pandemic to be endemic. Thank you.

James Dalton
