Subject: [EXTERNAL] ARPA Funds for Roseland
Date: Thursday, February 10, 2022 2:44:45 PM
Good afternoon,
Please do not grant the Boys & Girls Club of Sonoma County the entirety of the ARPA funds for Roseland. Some if not all of the 10million available should go to a community cultural center that can include the public library, a resiliency hub, and other community needs. Let the people who live in Roseland decide how this funding is used- not large nonprofits.

Thank you,
Allegra Wilson

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Roseland Community Cultural Center
Date: Monday, February 14, 2022 3:20:59 PM
Having worked in Sonoma County for the past 8 years and the last 2yrs specifically with the Roseland Community, I see the importance of establishing a Community Cultural Center for the community. Currently, I'm a current Masters in Public Health Candidate at the Yale School of Public Health with a Concentration on US Health Justice.

The $10 Million dollars that the city currently has, should be spent in a Community Cultural Center that will also be able to accommodate a Public Library and Resiliciency Hub, amongst other purposes for the community. Having access to a Community Cultural Center, a Public Library, Resiliency Hub and other purposes will continue to help the community continue to thrive and address many of the current public health issues.

The Boys and Girls Club of Sonoma-Marin does not need $10 million dollars that will go towards their salaries and not the kids nor the community.

Sincerely,
Rosa Gonzalez

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Agenda item 14.3 for City Council Meeting on 2/15/22 Date: Monday, February 14, 2022 3:55:51 PM
My name is Isabel Fischer. I am a resident of Southwest Santa Rosa, just down the road from the center of Roseland.

I think the $10 million in ARPA funds should go back into the Roseland community and provide more to benefit the residents of the area, rather than going to a private entity like the Boys and Girls Club. In addition to the Community Center and Fire Station already planned, the $10 million should also go towards more community spaces like a new public library, a resiliency hub, and an organizing space. And I personally would love to see and utilize these community spaces, as someone who lives in the area. I would be able to connect more with my neighbors and get to know more people around where I live. With these funds, you should invest in the community of Roseland, and build something that will enhance the wellbeing of its families, children, and residents.

As a grassroots organization that understands and respects the need for culturally aware community spaces, La Familia Sana, is in support of establishing a Community Cultural Center in Roseland.

The $10 million in ARPA funds should go towards a project that has the best interest of the community in the forefront. I am in support of a Community Cultural Center that accommodates a Public Library and Resiliency Hub. I am confident that unlike the Boys & Girls Clubs, a community center space will reflect the diversity and strategic needs of the Roseland Community.

Thank you,
