1 BACKGROUND
California Code Regulation Title 2, section 570.5
(CalPERS)
Council must approve and adopt a “pay schedule”
 Each time any pay rate is amended
 Identifies all titles, pay rates and effective dates
 Must be a stand-alone document
Council most recently approved a Salary Plan and
Schedule 9/28/2021.
2 PROPOSAL
• An updated Salary Plan and Schedule is needed due
to changes previously approved by Council:
• Recent COLA’s approved with MOU’s
• Upcoming COLA’s approved with MOU’s
• New classifications and salaries approved with
Midyear budget
• Adjustments to the City Attorney salary
• Adjustments to the Police Chief and Fire Chief
salaries
3 RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended by the Human Resources
Department that the Council, by two resolutions:
1) approve and adopt the City’s Salary Plan and
Schedule dated March 15, 2022; and 2) approve
and adopt the City’s Salary Plan and Schedule
dated April 10, 2022.
