RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA SETTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE PROPOSED ADOPTION OF AMENDMENTS TO SANTA ROSA CITY CODE CHAPTER 18-52 FLOOD DAMAGE PROTECTION WHEREAS, the Flood Damage Protection Ordinance for the City of Santa Rosa is set forth in Title 18, Chapter 18-52 of the Santa Rosa City Code; and WHEREAS, the Santa Rosa City Code Title 18, Chapter 18-52 is adopted to comply with the National Flood Disaster Protection Act and the National Flood Insurance Program Regulation; and WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) updated flood hazard maps for Santa Rosa Creek and its key tributaries; and WHEREAS, the updated flood hazard maps mandate local ordinances coincide with Federal and State requirements for development and construction within identified flood hazard areas; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Economic Development Department proposes adoption of the updated Flood Damage Protection Ordinance amending City Code Chapter 18-52, to be effective August 12, 2022. Amendments are to comply with 44 Code of Federal Regulations 60.3 by adding definitions, technical requirements and modifying language to coincide with changes made to those governing Regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa sets a public hearing during its regular meeting on July 12, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the item is reached on the agenda, for the proposed adoption of amendments to Santa Rosa City Code 18-52 Flood Damage Protection.
