• Luther Burbank Home and Garden
designated as a special purpose park
• Historic home and gardens of famed
horticulturalist, Luther Burbank
• Luther Burbank Home and Gardens
Association 501(c)(3) formed in 2008
• Association Board of Directors provides
exceptional management and
collaboration with the City
3 AGREEMENT
• One (1) year agreement with two, 3-year
extensions
• Program Facilities: use and occupy
carriage house, home, greenhouse,
demonstration beds, interpretive gardens
• Programs: provide volunteer training,
recognition, tours, gift shop, events,
educational outreach, gardening
demonstrations, plant sales, rentals
• Annual Goals

• Historical Collection: inventory,
research and preservation

5 RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended by the Transportation
and Public Works Department that the
Council, by resolution: 1) approve a
Management and Operations Agreement
with Luther Burbank Home and Gardens
Association for the management and
operations of the historic Luther Burbank
Home and Gardens facility; and 2)
authorize the Director of Transportation and
Public Works to execute the agreement.
