1 CURRENT
• The Transportation and Public Works (TPW)
submitted Purchase Requisition R159481 to
Purchasing to issue a bid for LED street
lights.
• On May 16, 2022 Invitation for Bid 22-28 was
opened by Purchasing
• Four bid responses were received, AZCO
Supply, Inc., Stockton, CA and SolarMax LED,
Inc., Riverside, CA were responsive and
responsible to the bid solicitation.
2 PROPOSED
• Approve split bid award and issuance of a
Purchase Order for the purchase of Item #1 -
500 each, VEGA D4A LED Light Engines to the
lowest responsive bidder AZCO Supply, Inc.,
Stockton, CA and Item #2 – 500 each, Cobra
Head Street Lights to SolarMax LED, Inc.,
Riverside, CA, for total not to exceed amount
of $180,235.19.
3 BENEFIT
• This request will complete the stock of
fixtures needed to finish converting all of the
City’s High Pressure Sodium (HPS) fixtures
over to LEDs and convert aging/failing
induction lights over to LEDs.
• The LED fixtures draw 1/3 of the wattage of
an equivalent HPS fixture and about ½ of an
induction fixture.
4 RECOMMENDATION
• It is recommended by the Transportation and
Public Work and Finance Departments that the
Council, by resolution, approve a split bid award
and issuance of a purchase order for the
purchase of Item #1 - 500 each, VEGA D4A LED
Light Engines to the lowest responsive bidder
AZCO Supply, Inc., Stockton, CA and Item #2 –
500 each, Cobra Head Street Lights to SolarMax
LED, Inc., Riverside, CA, for total not to exceed
amount of $180,235.19.
