RESOLUTION NO. RES-2022-121
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A PURCHASE ORDER TO INSIGHT PUBLIC SECTOR, INC. FOR AN UPGRADE TO THE CITY’S FIREWALL WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department is responsible for the protection of the City’s network. This includes the protection of desktops, servers, websites and email from viruses, malware, and phishing attacks; and WHEREAS, investing in newer technology has the benefit of higher-level protection from sophisticated zero-day virus threats and provides enhanced monitoring and detection; and WHEREAS, the current firewall is at its end of life and can no longer receive software updates which are critical to keep updated to ensure the City’s network is protected from viruses, malware and other potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa approves the issuance of a purchase order to Insight Public Sector, Inc., Herndon, VA, in the amount of $142,897.75 to upgrade the current firewall.
