Project Description – UC16-005 – Utility Certificate to connect existing single-family dwelling to City sewer service.
This is a request for the approval of a Utility Certificate that would allow an existing single-family residential development located at 1793 Fulton Road to be connected to City sewer service. The property is currently served by an aging septic system that has been documented to need repairs.
However, these repairs would be difficult and/or would not address the issues that currently face the septic system due to its age and the high level of groundwater present at the property. Additionally, a new septic system cannot be installed due to site constraints, including required setbacks from property lines for new septic systems. These findings are supported by the report prepared by Apex Septic Design, which is included as Attachment 6 in this item packet. The project is requesting to connect to City sewer to align the project’s timeline with the Fulton Road widening project, which is currently underway, to avoid the demolition of newly re-surfaced roadway in order to connect with City sewer at the street. No expansion of existing structures is proposed under this Utility Certificate application.
