RESOLUTION NO. RES-2022-209
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA AUTHORIZING SANTA ROSA CITYBUS TO MODIFY THE CITYBUS HOLIDAY SCHEDULE TO OPERATE AT A SATURDAY LEVEL OF SERVICE TO ALIGN WITH SONOMA COUNTY TRANSIT CONSISTENT WITH THE SONOMA COUNTY TRANSIT INTEGRATION AND EFFICIENCY STUDY WHEREAS, the City Council has directed staff to pursue implementation of the Sonoma County Transit Integration and Efficiency Study (TIES); and WHEREAS, one of the TIES Phase I recommendations calls for alignment of holiday service schedules among the Sonoma County bus operators; and WHEREAS, there are five holidays when the CityBus holiday service schedule is out of alignment with that of Sonoma County Transit and other regional transit operators (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; President’s Day; and the day after Thanksgiving as well as Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve when they fall on weekdays); and WHEREAS, analysis of ridership and customer feedback indicates that it would be appropriate to align CityBus holiday service schedules with that of Sonoma County Transit and other regional operators in the interest of regional transit coordination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Santa Rosa that Santa Rosa CityBus is authorized to modify the CityBus Holiday Schedule to operate at a Saturday level of service on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day; President’s Day; and the day after Thanksgiving; as well as Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve when they fall on weekdays.
