RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA WAIVING COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF TWO FORD F-150 POLICE RESPONDER VEHICLES TO HANSEL FORD, SANTA ROSA, CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, the City of Santa Rosa Police Department has an interest in an alternative vehicle that provides a larger cabin space, external cargo space, a greater towing capacity, and off-road capability; and WHEREAS, Ford Motor Company introduced the first pursuit rated pickup truck, the F-150 Police Responder model at the beginning of 2022; and WHEREAS, procuring two of these vehicles will provide a larger cross section of deployment opportunities to evaluate performance and it’s intended application for use; and WHEREAS the cutoff date for these vehicles was August 12, 2022, City Manager approved issuance of a purchase order on August 6, 2022, pending Council retroactive approval; and WHEREAS, due to the short window of time to place orders for this vehicle, Fleet Services gained approval from City Manager approval on August 6, 2022, for the waiver of competitive bid and issuance of a purchase order with Hansel Ford, pending Council Award retroactive approval; and WHEREAS, Council is the award authority for a purchase in an amount not to exceed $110,924.24 and must approve the waiver of competitive bidding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa waives competitive bidding pursuant to Section 3-08.100(D) of the City Code. / / /

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council approves the purchase of two 2023 or newer model year Ford F150 Police Responder Vehicles to Hansel Ford, Santa Rosa, California, for $55,462.12 each, for a total not to exceed $110,924.24.
