I am writing in support of Item 14-2 before the Council on Tuesday evening. I go downtown frequently to conduct business, to shop and to dine, during and after normal business hours. I am seldom challenged by a lack of available parking. By declaring the parcels as non-exempt surplus land, we can build the housing we so desperately need (provided it is truly "affordable") without the cost of constructing additional parking spaces.
On a separate note, increased funding for public transportation and free- parking would likely bring more business to the downtown area, but those are issues for another night!
