Subject: Legislative Update: State and Federal Advocacy Letters Attached are three support letters for the following bills:
Support for Assembly Bill 478 (Connolly): Insurance. Provided for information.
Support for Senate Bill 455 (McGuire): State of emergency: mortgage servicers: written disclosure. Provided for information.
Support for H.R. 176 (Thompson): To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to establish a deduction for attorney fees awarded with respect to certain wildfire damages and to exclude from gross income settlement funds received with respect to such damages. Provided for information.
These issues met the priorities outlined in the City’s adopted 2023 federal and state legislative platforms.
