RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA APPROVING A THIRD AMENDMENT TO PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT NUMBER F002302 WITH BUREAU VERITAS NORTH AMERICA, INC. FOR FIRE CODE PLAN REVIEW SERVICES WHEREAS, the Fire Department has one full time Building Plans examiner to review all plan reviews including new construction within the City; and WHEREAS, the anticipated upswing in services due to major development projects will also require the need for additional staff; and WHEREAS, the devastation of the Northern California wildfires has caused an influx of permit and processing demands, as well as the redevelopment of the downtown area, requiring the need for additional staff to facilitate the rebuilding of destroyed and damaged properties; and WHEREAS, on May 26, 2021, the City entered into a Professional Services Agreement with Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. to provide fire code plan review services in the amount of $100,000; and WHEREAS, on April 12, 2022, Council by Resolution RES-2022-069, approved a First Amendment adding compensation in the amount of $100,000 for a not to exceed amount of $200,00; and WHEREAS, on October 12, 2022, the City Manager approved a Second Amendment adding compensation in the amount of $95,000, for a not to exceed amount of $295,000 for continued services through June 30, 2023; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department has determined that due to continuing increased workload that it is in the City’s best interest to enter into a Third Amendment for continued plan review services. / / /

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa approves the Third Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement Number F002302 with Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. extending the time for performance through June 30, 2025 and increasing the not-to-exceed amount by $275,000 to continue plan review services for an additional two years for a total amount not to exceed $570,000, in substantially the same form as Exhibit A to the resolution, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
