RESOLUTION NO. RES-2023-124
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA APPOINTING AN INTERIM CITY ATTORNEY AND APPROVAL OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH BURKE, WILLIAMS & SORENSEN, LLP WHEREAS, City Attorney Sue Gallagher has announced her retirement from her position as City Attorney effective July 28, 2023; and WHEREAS, appointment of an Interim City Attorney position is needed while the City conducts a recruitment for a permanent City Attorney; and WHEREAS, the City has negotiated an agreement for Interim City Attorney services with the law firm of Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP; and WHEREAS, Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP have designated Samantha W. Zutler to serve as Interim City Attorney.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa appoints the law firm of Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP to the office of Interim City Attorney, effective as of August 1, 2023.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Samantha W. Zutler is designated to serve as Interim City Attorney.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council approves the Professional Services Agreement with Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP for Interim City Attorney, in substantially the same form as Exhibit A to the resolution, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
