RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA ACCEPTING A
GRANT AWARD FROM THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY TARGETED STATE GRANT; AUTHORIZE THE ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS; AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER CHIEF
FINANCIAL OFFICER TO APPROPRIATE GRANT FUNDS
WHEREAS, on January 11, 2022, the City Council approved the acquisition of 976, 980 and 1004 Hearn Avenue, an approximately six-acre site, for multiple future public uses including but not limited to the Dutton Avenue extension, the Colgan Creek multi-use path extension, relocation of Fire Station 8, a library, a multicultural community center and an aquatics facility (Project); and
WHEREAS, additional funding is needed to construct the Project; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Targeted State Grants program, administered by the California State Library, has awarded the City $5,000,000 in grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a check for $2,500,000 and will receive an additional $2,500,000 in two subsequent checks from the grant program; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds are applicable towards Project activities that benefit construction of the new Roseland Library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa accepts a grant award from the California State Library Targeted State Grants program in the amount of $5,000,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council authorizes the Assistant City Manager, or designee, to execute all related documents required for receiving such funds, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council authorizes the City Manager Chief Financial Officer to appropriate revenue and needed transfers from Fund 1231 – “State Grants” and appropriate expenditures to Fund 1410 "Capital Improvement”/Key 17662 “Roseland Library” in the amount of the $5,000,000 grant.
