RESOLUTION NO. RES-2023-140
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH SLOAN SAKAI YEUNG & WONG LLP WHEREAS, the City is beginning negotiations with all bargaining groups, as all Memorandums of Understanding expire on June 30, 2024; and WHEREAS, the legal issues in connection with labor negotiations and employment matters are highly complex; and WHEREAS, the City released a Request for Proposals on April 14, 2023 for labor relations consulting services; and WHEREAS, consistent with Council Policy 600-01, a review board was formed to review and rank proposals and Sloan Sakai Yeung & Wong LLP was selected as the successful bidder and best value to the City of Santa Rosa; and WHEREAS, the Sloan Sakai Yeung & Wong LLP has particular expertise in these areas of the law and experience in working with City staff and thorough knowledge of City policies and procedures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa approves the Professional Services Agreement with Sloan Sakai Yeung & Wong LLP in substantially the same form as Exhibit A to this Resolution, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney, in the amount of $500,000.
