Draft Santa Rosa General
Plan 2050 consolidates the
State mandated General
Plan elements into five
chapters* that address both
required and optional
General Plan topics. Each
chapter includes goals,
policies, and actions that
work together to achieve
the community’s vision for
the future.
*The City’s Housing Element covering the planning period through 2031 was adopted in February 2023. Draft General Plan 2050 does not propose any changes to the Housing Element.

Community’s feedback is being gathered through 5 methods:
1. Bilingual Community Open Houses and Pop-Ups:
5 in person workshops, one in each quadrant of the city 1 virtual workshop on zoom
10 pop-ups throughout the city where people are at
2. Online Survey, in English and Spanish focused on the new policies and actions.
3. Konveio App. A City platform for document review and collaborative comments.
4. Comments received by email ([email protected]) or website https://www.santarosaforward.com
.
5. Focus groups with equity priority populations of Santa Rosa.

In partnership with Santa Rosa’s Public Art Program and Kimzin Creative, a series of art engagements with 7 local artists has been done to expand participation of youth (5 – 24 years old) for health and environmental justice:
• Coloring Book. A bilingual coloring book for grades 3-8 on the topics of health and environmental justice was developed by Blanca Molina. It was distributed to schools, organizations, and non-profits, including Santa Rosa's Equity Priority Areas.
• Art Installation. 4 art workshops were facilitated by Erika Lutz and Briona Hendren for high school students. Data collected became an art installation reflecting the dreams of Santa Rosa’s youth.
• Song and Music Video. 4 poetry workshops were facilitated by Kayatta Patton, at Santa Rosa Junior College together with the Black Student Union and Juvenile Hall. Data collected was turned into a song and music video that reflects and uplifts the hopes of youth as it relates to the community’s health and well-being.

En asociación con el Programa de Arte Público de Santa Rosa y Kimzin Creative, se ha realizado una serie de compromisos artísticos con 7 artistas locales para ampliar la participación de los jóvenes (de 5 a 24 años) en favor de la salud y la justicia ambiental. • Libro para colorear. Blanca Molina desarrolló un libro para colorear bilingüe para los grados 3-8 sobre temas de salud y justicia ambiental. Se distribuyó a escuelas, organizaciones y organizaciones sin fines de lucro, incluidas las Áreas Prioritarias de Equidad de Santa Rosa.
• Instalación de arte. Erika Lutz y Briona Hendren facilitaron 4 talleres de arte para estudiantes de secundaria y preparatoria.
