ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA INCREASING COUNCIL COMPENSATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 4
OF THE SANTA ROSA CITY CHARTER
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Effective as of December 14, 2022, each member of the City Council shall be compensated in the amount of $1480 per calendar month, except that the Mayor shall be compensated in the amount of $2,200 per calendar month.
Section 2. Environmental Determination. The Council finds that the adoption and implementation of this ordinance are exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under CEQA Guidelines Section 15378(b)(4) and (b)(5) in that it involves governmental fiscal activities and/or administrative activities that will not result in any potentially significant direct or indirect physical impacts on the environment.
Section 3. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid and/or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect on the 31st day following its adoption. Notwithstanding the effective date of this ordinance, the salary increases set forth in this ordinance shall be effective as of December 14, 2022, and may be paid retroactively.
This ordinance was introduced by the Council of the City of Santa Rosa on December 6, 2022.
