Dear City of Santa Rosa,
I met 2 men lost in the courtyard outside your chambers last Thursday.

They were looking for the planning commission meeting.

Luckily, I bumped into them and asked if I could help, and showed them the stairs and elevator.

Please install some signage in the courtyard to tell people where your chambers are.

In addition, it would be helpful to have the public commenters' podium at eye level with the committee/council, like the city staff are positioned. I'd like to be able to make eye contact. Wouldn't you? Having the public 20' higher than the committees/commissions/council just makes it easier for us to be disregarded. The podium used to be on the floor level some years ago. The City is supposed to value citizen input and it doesn't feel like it, partly based on the podium location.

I welcome your comments.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Road upkeep
Date: Saturday, April 6, 2024 1:53:53 PM
Greetings,
I have moved back to Santa Rosa after about 50 years in Healdsburg. I understand there is a huge difference between the two communities. There is one issue, however, that is glaring….. the roads.

Please don’t misunderstand. Healdsburg’s roads are not perfect but they are definitely better. Santa Rosa has a problem in that there isn’t a freeway to carry “freeway” traffic from downtown, Coddingtown, and 101 to Hwy 12.

That means that besides Hoen, there’s Sonoma and Montgomery and College/4th all of which are carrying freeway loads across town.

Hoen’s much better, obviously, since the recent upgrade. College/4th are okay, but Sonoma and Montgomery are abysmal. I have a suggestion that might work to improve those roadways just a bit. What if the city instituted a pothole crew that worked only at night and the only task was to fill potholes and smooth the worst of areas? This might not need to be a permanent crew but, rather, a response to small but particularly irksome…even verging on dangerous roadway conditions.

It’s just a thought about how to improve travel east to west.

Regards,
Carolyn Moore

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Senior Zoning Overlay
Date: Monday, April 8, 2024 7:59:10 AM
April 4th, 2024
Mayor Rogers, Council Members, City Planners and Manager:

Help!
We seniors need your vote to approve the Senior Zoning Overlay agenda
item that applies to 55+ Mobile Home Parks in our wonderful city of Santa Rosa, as well as reduce the in place transfer fee to 5%.

We have an affordable housing crisis where seniors are especially vulnerable.

Your urgent attention and vote to approve the Senior Zoning Overlay will help ensure housing security by limiting mobile home park owners from changing the 55+ age restriction to all age communities.

Reducing the in place transfer fee to 5% will also help with affordability.

Thank you in Advance,

Ellie Genazzi
