Mayor Rogers, Council Members, Manager and City Planners, Im' writing to Santa Rosa elected council members and city leaders ot express my strongest support for your vote to approve the 'Senior Zoning Overlay' agenda item that applies to 55+ Mobile Home Parks in our beautiful city of Santa Rosa..

As you know we have an affordable housing crisis in our communities. Seniors are especially vulnerable to this reality as our incomes are fixed,(and very low}, health issues are costly and our ability to generate funds and relocate are sharply limited.

We enjoy our city and our homes. At our ages we especially need housing security and safe community living. Your vote to approve the Senior Zoning Overlay will ensure this by limiting Mobilehome park owners from changing the 55+ age restriction to all age communities. This distressing trend is occurring all over California and older adults have been priced out of their communities. Your urgent attention and vote to approve the Senior Zoning Overlay for 55+ MHP's and reduce the in place transfer fee to 5% can prevent this from happening in Santa Rosa.

Thanks much for your great help,
Beverly Clarke

Dear Mayor Rogers, Council Members and City Planners,
I'm writing to express my strong support for your vote to approve the Senior Zoning Overlay agenda item that applies to 55+ mobile home parks in our wonderful city.

As a senior, I am a especially vulnerable to the affordable housing crisis we have in California. I enjoy the beautiful city that Santa Rosa is, and particularly my wonderful mobile home in Sequoia Gardens. At my age of 69, I especially need housing security and a safe community living environment.

Your vote to approve the Senior Zoning Overlay will ensure this by limiting mobile home park owners from changing the 55+ age restriction to all age communities. Please don't allow this distressing trend to continue and price me out of my beautiful home in Santa Rosa! Your vote to approve the Senior Zoning Overlay for 55+ MHP's and reduce the in place transfer fee to 5% can prevent this from happening!
Thank you for your vote and for your consideration,
Lynn Christy

Dear City Council Members, Manager, and City Planners,
I am writing to Santa Rosa elected council members and city leaders to express my strong support for your vote to approve the ‘Senior Zoning Overlay’ agenda item that applies to 55+ Mobile Home Parks in our beautiful city.

As you know all too
well, we have an affordable housing cruising in our communities throughout the Bay Area and nearly all California. Seniors are especially vulnerable to this reality as our incomes are fixed, health issues are costly, and our ability to generate funds and relocate are sharply limited or nonexistent.

We enjoy our
city and our homes. At our ages we especially need housing security and safe community living. Your vote to approve the Senior Zoning Overlay will ensure this by limiting Mobilehome park owners from conveniently changing the 55+ age restriction to all- age communities. This distressing trend is occurring all over California and older adults have been priced out of their communities. Your urgent attention and vote to approve the Senior Zoning Overlay for 55+ Mobilehome parks and reduce the in-place transfer fee to 5% can help this from happening in Santa Rosa.

Please take the
long-term view on this issue and support sustainable models that foster a real commitment
to community. Investor groups that are acquiring our mobile home parks at such a rapid rate are not committed to the long term well-being and sustained growth of Santa Rosa. Theirs is a short-term profit perspective that largely capitalizes on vulnerable populations, then moves on to the next available market. It is important to recognize this strategy — though it may temporarily increase the tax base for our city — actually impoverishes and disempowers lower- and fixed-income communities in the long term. This is a courageous moment for all.

Thank you in
advance for the wisdom you bring to this important issue Glenn Chapin
