• City Code Section 11-44.050 establishes
process for creating or amending
residential permit zones
2 PROPOSED
• A petition has been received from residents of the
100 block of Sotoyome Street to expand the
Downtown Residential Permit Parking Zone
• The street currently has two-hour time limited
parking from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday –Saturday to
limit visitors and employees of nearby hospital and
medical offices from using all the street parking
• If approved, residents may purchase permits
exempting them from time limits
3 PROPOSED EXPANSION TO THE
RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING ZONE
4 BENEFIT
• Approval of this item will provide relief to
residents, allowing them to park beyond
posted time limits in the permit zone.
• The two-hour time limit will continue to
serve as a deterrent to long term spill over
parking, freeing up parking spaces for
residents.
5 RECOMMENDATION
• It is recommended by the Finance
Department that Council, by resolution,
approve the petition to add the 100 block of
Sotoyome Street to the Talbot/Memorial
Residential Permit Parking Zone.
