RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH ARTWORKS FOUNDRY LLC FOR 3D PRINTING, BRONZE CASTING, FINISHING, AND PATINA COATING OF RUTH ASAWA ART PANELS IN THE AMOUNT OF $406,900 WHEREAS, the City’s Public Art Program has been working to restore and install the original Ruth Asawa art panels onto a new fountain in Old Courthouse Square; and WHEREAS, due to considerable deterioration of the material of the original panels and related repair and maintenance costs, the Art in Public Places Committee approved casting the original panels in bronze and installing the bronze casts on the new fountain; and WHEREAS, Artworks Foundry, LLC is the firm that was selected to provide the casting and installation services; and WHEREAS, on November 30, 2021, Council adopted a resolution approving a Professional Services Agreement with Artworks Foundry in the amount of $300,000; and WHEREAS, Artworks Foundry has completed the digital scanning of the panels, and the Professional Services Agreement has now expired; and WHEREAS, in March 2025, Economic Development received an updated scope and budget from Artworks Foundry to complete the project; and WHEREAS, the scope of work associated with the Professional Service Agreement will allow the 3D printing, bronze casting, finishing, and patina coating of the Ruth Asawa art panels, with the amount not to exceed four hundred six thousand, nine hundred dollars ($406,900); and WHEREAS, based on the project work completed to date, there is a need above the remaining contract funds to complete the project, and the Department will allocate $270,000 of the previously appropriated PG&E settlement funds, $84,806.38 of Courthouse Reunification funds, and $52,093.62 of Public Art funds. / / /

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council approve the Professional Services Agreement with Artworks Foundry LLC, in an amount not to exceed $406,900 for the bronze casting and installation of the Ruth Asawa Art Panels, in substantially the same form as Exhibit A to the resolution, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
