RESOLUTION OF THE council OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA adoption OF THE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN WHEREAS, on March 12, 2019, the City Council, by Resolution No. 2019-027, adopted the 2018 Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan update; and WHEREAS, in July 2023, City staff began an update to the 2018 Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, to be renamed the Active Transportation Plan; and WHEREAS, the Active Transportation Plan establishes a long-term vision for enhancing the active transportation network in Santa Rosa by updating the previous plan adopted by the City Council in 2019; and WHEREAS, community engagement was a major component of the Active Transportation Plan process, which included two phases of public outreach with two workshops, four stakeholder meetings, 13 pop-up events, a project webpage, two online surveys, and an online interactive PDF of the Public Review Draft Active Transportation Plan; and WHEREAS, approximately 195 miles of new and improved bikeways and 75 miles of new and improved sidewalks are proposed in the Active Transportation Plan; and WHEREAS, there were 438 proposed crossing locations suggested for possible pedestrian enhancements in the Active Transportation Plan; and WHEREAS, the Active Transportation Plan recommends that the City focus on a list of High Priority Projects in the coming five years, with additional projects being implemented as the opportunity arises; and WHEREAS, on May 15, 2025, the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board, by motion, recommended to the City Council that it adopt the Final Active Transportation Plan. / / /

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa adopts the Active Transportation Plan.
