RESOLUTION NO. RES-2025-156
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA AUTHORIZING MULTIPLE MID-BLOCK CROSSWALK INSTALLATIONS WHEREAS, the Transportation and Public Works Department intends to install multiple mid-block crosswalks; and WHEREAS, mid-block crosswalks on Giffen Avenue at R.L. Stevens Elementary, Dutton Meadow at Colgan Creek (both crossings), Burgess Drive at Colgan Creek, and Range Avenue at Paulin Creek, will help channel pedestrians and bicyclists to proper locations to cross the streets; and WHEREAS, striped crosswalks and signing provide notification to motorists of the potential presence of pedestrians and bicyclists crossing the street; and WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 21106, Establishment of Crosswalks, allows local authorities, by ordinance or resolution, to establish crosswalks between intersections.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa authorizes installation of mid-block crosswalks at Giffen Avenue at R.L. Stevens Elementary, Dutton Meadow at Colgan Creek (two crossings, one on either side of the creek), Burgess Drive at Colgan Creek, and Range Avenue at Paulin Creek.
