Staffing Updates
Position Control List – 174 FTE (approved):
• SAFER employees (12)
• Measure H employees (14)
• 6 FTE deferred to FY 26/27
• PSAP employees (10.25)
Operations:
• Academy of 7 Firefighter/Paramedics due to graduate December 12, 2025 • All other promotions and backfill in progress to constant staffing by end of FY 25/26 • In Response - 2 vacant positions (on-hold)
Fire Prevention:
• Added 2 FTE Inspector positions – Measure H (2 current Ltd Term Fire Inspectors to move to the FTE then will create 2 Limited Term Fire Inspector Vacancies) • 1 vacant – Community Outreach Specialist - FTE
Administration
• Full staffing
Adjustments to Staffing
• New organizational chart available online
• New emergency management redundancy in alert/warning and EOC activation in place 2 Fire Stations
Fire Station 5 (Fountaingrove):
• Grand Opening – November 15, 2025
Fire Station 8 (Roseland):
• Grading plan in and approved
• Ground Breaking – November 14, 2025
• Completion – June 2027
Fire Station 9 (Southeast):
• Currently working with Real Estate on location of new Fire Station 9 funded by Measure H.
• SRA/Elsa – focus is on retrofitting a current structure Fire Station 11 (Junior College District)
• Opened and funding CIP account for permanent station 3 Fleet
Current apparatus on order:
• Type 1 Fire Engines – 5
• Scheduled for completion this spring
• 4 GF, 1 PSAP
• Type 6 Fire Engines – 2
• Arrived and in-service
4 K9 Program

Basque successful
graduated from NICST –
