Honorable Council Members:
I, like a lot of local residents, are concerned about the many delays in constructing the Jennings at-grade crossing. I strongly support SMART but I’m troubled by the separation of east and west Santa Rosa at Jennings street. The Jennings at grade crossing is vital to the goals of the ATP. It would connect Jennings street to the 101 over crossing and to SRJC.
With the emphasis on urban housing it’s vital to offer safe, connected mobility networks as an alternative to vehicle travel within Santa Rosa. If Santa Rosa City Council is serious about its unanimous support of the Climate Emergency Resolution it must support active mobility networks connecting all quadrants of Santa Rosa.
Let’s get serious about constructing the Jennings at-grade crossing.
