This addict recovery center does not serve our community and poses a danger to our children. It would bring a population into our neighborhood that will tear the fabric of our safety and neighborhood feeling. As a frequent walker to the site I would no longer feel safe patronizing the businesses there, and would no longer enjoy walking up the hill to the nearby children's park with my grandchildren.

Dear Councilpersons and Members of Santa Rosa Planning Commission, I am a resident of the Skyhawk community, I have lived in the Skyhawk community with my family for over two years, I love my community and I signed a petition saying NO to the plan of building an Addiction Services Center in Skyhawk.
When I moved here, my neighbors sent their warmest welcomes to my family and me. When my friends visited us, they always told me the people in this community were nice and friendly. I know my community and the people who live here, thus I feel very safe and well-supported.
However, I won’t have the same feeling if an Addiction Services Center exists in my community. First, the center will affect the life of my family. I don’t know the people who go to the center at all. Therefore, I won’t feel safe going outside alone or taking the kids outside which will significantly affect my life. Second, the center will affect the people who come to visit us. I feel obligated to remind my friends or other family members who come to visit us that there is an Addiction Services Center in my community, I believe they will also feel unsafe bringing the kids outside to the community park which they enjoy very much. As a result, they will come to visit us less frequently which will be unfair to both sides. Third, an Addiction Services Center will attract no customers in my community which will put the local business in danger and affects the whole community in the long term.

Dear Members of Santa Rosa City Council and Members of Santa Rosa Planning Commission, My name is Jack Qin and I am a resident of Skyhawk neighborhood since 2011.
I heard about this upcoming drug rehab center at Skyhawk Village, and have many concerns.
The biggest concern is safety, as this rehab center is too close to residential homes and schools, as it is located at the main entrance of the Skyhawk community (with 500 homes) and Austin Creek elementary school. Many parents with school-age kids, including myself, consider this rehab center as a big security risk, as we definitely do not want our kids to be in contact with any person who is additive to drug.
Furthermore, there are several small businesses in Skyhawk Village that will take direct impact if the drug rehab center opens in that village, as many of their customers will stop going there which will eventually drive some (if not all) of those small businesses out of business. For example, I go to Anytime Fitness and Colleen's coffee shop on a regular basis, and I will stop going there as soon as this rehab center is open, which will be inconvenient for me but necessary due to safety concerns.
If this drug rehab center does get approved, I will be forced to sell my home and move to a safer community. I am sure there are other homeowners will do the same, and the home values will go down for sure as the home buyers will try to avoid Skyhawk at all cost.
I am not the only one who has these concerns, as I have signed multiple petitions both online and on paper, and each of those petitions has collected hundreds of signatures!
Please take the voices from local residents seriously, and place this drug rehab center at a proper location that is not too close to schools and homes.
