Esteemed City Council members and staff,
Thank you for your work on the FY 2026/27 Annual Action Plan. I have read through the draft document. We have noticed a visible difference in downtown areas since the post-pandemic years.
I wanted to highlight what a great asset inResponse is to our Downtown community.
The Safe Streets program has also been very valuable
in keeping our downtown underpass
areas inviting for pedestrians, shoppers, and tourists passing through our downtown corridor.
While
it provides much needed services, the placement of Catholic Charities Caritas center so close to the city's retail and hotels is unfortunate, as adverse impacts are occasionally felt in our retail and tourism centers. We entrust the City to work with its partner agencies to reduce the negative impact to economic development.
I see all the work that has gone into documenting housing services, particularly to our vulnerable populations like the elderly, foster youth, and families. We sincerely hope the
federal government will maintain funding.
Thank you for your service to our communities!
Best regards,
