RESOLUTION NO. RES-2026-042
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA ADOPTING A COUNCIL POLICY ENTITLED “ REQUESTS FOR REMOTE PARTICIPATION ACCOMMODATION FOR LEGISLATIVE BODY MEMBERS WITH DISABILITIES” WHEREAS, effective January 1, 2026, the Ralph M. Brown Act (Government Code 54953(c)) allows for members of the City Council and boards and commissions to participate remotely in meetings of the legislative body on which they serve as a reasonable accommodation for a qualifying disability under applicable law; and WHEREAS, to address this new provision of state law, it is prudent for the Council to adopt a policy that establishes a procedure for facilitating requests for remote participation accommodation by City Council and boards and commissions members in accordance with applicable laws.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa adopts Council Policy 000-XX –Requests for Remote Participation Accommodation for Legislative Body Members with Disabilities, attached hereto.
