RESOLUTION NO. RES-2026-053
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA AMENDING CITY COUNCIL POLICY 000-20 ENTITLED “CITIZEN PARTICIPATION” WHEREAS, effective July 1, 2026, the Ralph M. Brown Act (Government Code Section 54953.4) requires the Council to make reasonable efforts to encourage participation by groups that do not traditionally participate in meetings; and WHEREAS, on August 18, 1987, the Council adopted Council Policy 000-20 entitled “Citizen Participation” and has not been updated since; and WHEREAS, it is prudent for the Council to adopt amendments to Council Policy 000-20 to modernize language and align with current organizational structure and operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa amend Council Policy 000-20 attached hereto as Exhibit A, entitled “Public Participation.” IN COUNCIL DULY PASSED this 12th day of May, 2026.
