RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA APPOINTING JASON NUTT AS INTERIM CITY MANAGER EFFECTIVE JUNE 27, 2026 AND APPROVING AN EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA AND JASON NUTT WHEREAS, the City of Santa Rosa has a vacancy for the City Manager position; and WHEREAS, the Council appointed Lori Ann Farrell as Interim City Manager by Resolution RES-2025-188; and WHEREAS, Lori Ann Farrell, Interim City Manager, has resigned from her position as Interim City Manager effective June 26, 2026; and WHEREAS, appointment of an Interim City Manager position is needed while the City conducts a recruitment for a permanent City Manager; and WHEREAS, the Council desires to appoint Jason Nutt as the Interim City Manager of the City of Santa Rosa, on a temporary and at-will basis, pending the recruitment of a permanent replacement to fill the position; and WHEREAS, Jason Nutt desires to serve as Interim City Manager of the City of Santa Rosa beginning June 27, 2026; and WHEREAS, the Council and Jason Nutt desire to agree in writing to the terms and conditions of Jason Nutt’s employment as Interim City Manager; and WHEREAS, the position of Interim City Manager requires specialized skills, including but not limited to advanced management, budgeting, and negotiation and Jason Nutt has those skills; and WHEREAS, Jason Nutt’s appointment to the position of Interim City Manager shall only be made once and will end upon the start date of the City Manager, or such earlier date as stated in the Employment Agreement. / / /

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Santa Rosa that the terms of the Employment Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A between the City of Santa Rosa and Jason Nutt, appointing Jason Nutt to the position of Interim City Manager, effective June 27, 2026, are hereby approved and adopted, and the Mayor is authorized and directed to sign and execute the Employment Agreement on behalf of the City.
