RESOLUTION NO. RES-2026-080
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE SONOMA COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES REVISED FEES WHEREAS, Sonoma County Animal Services (SCAS) provides sheltering, administrative, and field services for the City of Santa Rosa, unincorporated areas of the County, City of Healdsburg, and is responsible for rabies control for the entire County; and WHEREAS, costs of care include field and licensing services, ongoing veterinary care and treatment as needed, daily kennel cleaning and provision of fresh bedding and clean food dishes, food, including meeting any special dietary requirements as indicated by veterinary examination; and WHEREAS, the fee schedule proposed by SCAS for FY 2026-27 reflects several fee increases and some new fees to help recover some of the costs of services delivered to residents in the jurisdictions served; and WHEREAS, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved Animal Services fees for the County of Sonoma for FY 2026-27 with an effective date of July 1, 2026; and WHEREAS, the fee adjustments for animal impound and boarding fees, kennel/pet shop license fees, and other health/safety related charges are estimated to increase revenue for FY 2026-27 Animal Services by $52,767; and WHEREAS, on June 16, 2026, the Council held a duly noticed public meeting on the proposed revised fees, at which all those wishing to be heard were allowed to speak or present written comments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Rosa approves and adopts the Sonoma County Animal Services revised fees as outlined in Exhibit A to this Resolution. / / /

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Exhibit A is made part of this Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these fees are effective July 1, 2026.
