Weed Abatement Process
• If a property is inspected and is out of compliance, a notice to comply will be sent to the parcel owner advising them of the Ordinance and a date for the next inspection.
• A second inspection (aka 1st Re-inspection) is conducted and if the parcel is found to still be out of compliance, a Violation Notice will be sent to the parcel owner with a date for the next inspection. • If a property remains out of compliance following the Weed Abatement Violation Notice, the Fire Department is authorized to use an approved contractor to abate the property. All costs associated are recoverable by the City.
