Hello Members of the City Council,
I want to add my voice to those who do not think these cameras should be used in our city. Firstly, all this surveillance is suspect because given the current administration and perhaps those to come cannot be trusted with the immense data being collected. Additionally, though it may sound nice and preventative to use these measures for specific reasons of purported safety we have authorities running amok using data to track and apprehend folks like what is happening with ICE on our streets.
Lets keep our safety in our hands. Let's work to have a caring and kind relationship between all of us and be especially on guard around those most vulnerable in our midst.
Thank you for taking up this issue and enabling our voices to be heard on this topic.
