Kevin McGowan, Director of Public Works and Pacific Gas and Electric representatives, Mark van Gorder and Austin Sharp, provided an informational presentation to Council.

Background: City Staff and City Council Members have met with PG&E several times the past year to discuss and receive update on their system upgrade project and the City’s interest in pursuing an option to underground PG&E facilities.

In general, the electrical system upgrades are needed to their system in Sausalito.

It is staff’s understanding that PG&E will be undergrounding many of their main overhead power lines throughout the state to address potential impacts of wildfire. PG&E ’s planned work includes upgrading their existing 4 kV system to a 12 kV system.
