COMMITTEE REPORTS
Dave Hodgin mentioned that they are looking forward to seeing everyone March 14-16 at the beautiful performing arts center, now known as The Landing. Victor Alejandro, the Committee Chair of the Hitchcock Festival, gave highlights of the festival and invited the community to attend. Christina Dinwiddie, the scheduling coordinator for the Hitchcock Festival, noted that the International Baccalaureate (IB) Film students from Harbor High School were able to visit The Landing today to hear the Hitchcock history.

CM Lind attended a Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District (METRO) Board of Directors meeting where they approved the line of credit which will help fund 53 hydrogen buses. This will be a bridge loan until grant funding is received in March 2026.

CM Lind attended a METRO tour with the Congressional staff from the offices of Senator Alex Padilla, Senator Adam Schiff, Congressmember Zoe Lofgren, and Congressmember Jimmy Panetta.

CM Lind attended a meeting with a local Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) representative where they discussed the seemingly sudden increase in rates over the last couple of months. The representative will possibly participate in a podcast with Robert Aldana to discuss this and other relevant topics.

CM Lind, along with CM Clark, attended the Polar Plunge event. She noted that, although there were teams from cities in other counties, Scotts Valley was the only city in Santa Cruz County who had a team participating in the event.

VM Timms attended the Consolidated Oversight Board Meeting where he was appointed Vice Chair.

CM Jett has been attending weekly meetings of the Youth Action Network where they are planning the Leaders Unite workshop to be held on March 29 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Community Foundation in Aptos. The purpose of the event is to connect young people (aged 14-18) with their local elected officials.

CM Clark attended the annual Senior Center meeting where he heard what they are working on and what the future looks like. He acknowledged the staff for their hard work, particularly Recreation Division Manager Pfefferkorn and Darshana Croskrey.

CM Clark announced that there is a vacancy on the Senior Center Advisory Commission, so an appointment will be made soon.

CM Clark announced that the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) will host a virtual community forum on March 12 at 6:00 PM to discuss the Zero Emissions Passenger Rail-Trail. For more information on how to participate, visit the RTC website. The Passenger Rail Concept Report was due this spring but has been pushed to fall.

ALTERATIONS TO CONSENT AGENDA

CONSENT AGENDA

ALTERATIONS TO REGULAR AGENDA
Mayor Timm met with staff members from the Planning Department and the Recreation Division to research grant funding as part of the Complete Streets Collaborative.

Administrative Services Director, Stephanie Hill, gave the City Manager report as Acting City Manager.

Storm Updates: It has been a quiet week with only light rainfall, but the maintenance crew is preparing for potentially heavier rains next week and staff are monitoring the situation.

Wastewater Project: The Wastewater Division is preparing for the Aeration Basin project, which will result in greater efficiencies, cleaner water, reduced electricity bills, and more reliable functions, which all benefit the community and the environment.

Bocce Court Resurfacing: The resurfacing of the bocce court is scheduled for next week but will be dependent on the weather. This occurs approximately every five to eight years.

FEMA and State Reimbursement: There will be a $50K reimbursement check arriving soon and it is good to see that this funding continues to be processed and sent.

Vivian expressed approval for the housing project at 4575 Scotts Valley Drive.
