• In advance of this year's rainy season, the City of Seaside has set up two sandbag filling stations for residents. The first filling station is located at the Seaside Fire Station at 1635 Broadway Avenue, behind the station at the Broadway entrance. The second station is in the empty lot on Canyon Del Rey, between Chili's Restaurant and Laguna Grande Park. Residents may take up to 10 sandbags per household. Due to possible weather conditions and staff dispatching, city staff may not be available to assist in filling sandbags. For more information, contact the Public Works Department at (831) 899-6835
• As part of the Campus Town construction project, improvements are coming to the intersection of Lightfighter Drive and General Jim Moore Boulevard. Construction is expected to begin in November 2025 and will take about a year to complete. The work will happen in phases, so traffic will still move through the area-but drivers should expect changing traffic patterns and some delays along the way. Please drive carefully, follow posted signs, and stay alert for construction crews. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve Seaside's roadways!
• The City of Seaside is introducing a new Rental Assistance Program (RAP) to help residents overcome housing barriers by providing up to six months of rental assistance, including security deposits. The program is open to current Seaside residents and households moving into Seaside whose income does not exceed 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for Monterey County. To help the community learn more, the City will host a public workshop on Wednesday, November 12, at 5:00 p.m. in the Laguna Grande Room at the Oldemeyer Center.
