Dear Sebastopol City Council Members,
I have lived in west county most of my life. I grew up here and am raising my family in Sebastopol because of the community; a community that is family friendly and supports the children of our community to grow up in an environment that supports health, fosters collaboration, and values teamwork. One of the core ways we do this is through involving our children in team sports. Team sports are also shown to have a number of psychological benefits, reduce the risk of truancy and other problem behaviors, and teach the values that support children and adolescents to grow up to be productive and contributing members of society. One of the places in the heart of our town where this happens is through Sebastopol Little League and the baseball activities that take place at Polley Field. As such, we support Option B that keeps Polley Field in Ives Park.
