Subject: City of Sebastopol's water meter opt-out program Date: Tuesday, February 15, 2022 3:37:36 PM
Dear Councilmembers,
Please note I am writing as a citizen of the City of Sebastopol and not a publisher of the Sonoma County Gazette.

I am against an opt-out program for the new water meters. How can our city be curators and pushers for conservation when we can't even stand for progressive and updated intrastructure that empowers our city to be able to monitor water usage, leaks and more in real time? I don't understand Sebastopol's reluctance to get with today's needs. We are in a climate crisis. I am in deep research for my job (OK, crud, there's the publisher hat) and am finding that every lollar spent in resiliency infrastructure saves $11 in the long run. Why do we keep draggins our feet here in Sebastopol? I just don't get it. Please don't empower our citizens to drag our feet with an unnecessary opt-out program. If they are truly worried about EMFs, send them over to Milk & Honey, where there are many crystals available to ward off EMF issues. The owner has even hand-written the benefits of each rock and crystal. Seriously.

Also seriously, can we stop living in the past and be the progressive city we claim to be? Thank you for your time.
