To the City of Sebastopol,
I am writing you to ask for your added support of the upcoming Gravenstein Apple Fair.
The Gravenstein Apple Fair is a wonderful community event, and we hope you'll consider supporting their request for more support for the fair. Exchange Bank is a long- time partner of Farm Trails and the Gravenstein Apple Fair. Besides participating as a major sponsor, Exchange Bank has a substantial number of employees who volunteer each year in various roles throughout the weekend, and we have direct experience with the traffic issues that arise from the popularity of this fair.
The volume of vehicles waiting to enter Ragle Park at the four way stop sign at the entrance historically causes traffic to back up all the way into downtown Sebastopol, particularly on Mill Station Rd., Covert Lane, Hwy 12, and Hwy 116. This impacts attendees, residents, and local businesses alike. Having official Sebastopol Police Department officers directing the flow of traffic would greatly mitigate traffic jams and provide smoother and safer entry to the fair for vendors, presenters, volunteers, and attendees.
As the Apple Blossom Parade and Festival demonstrated the other weekend, is that our community is ready to get out again in large numbers. We are looking forward to another busy and successful fair this year and look forward to seeing our community come together once again. Thank you for your time and consideration.
