Dear Sebastopol City Council Members,
We are writing to urge you to support Sonoma County Farm Trails and the Gravenstein Apple Fair to the greatest extent possible.
We have been involved with Farm Trails and the Apple Fair since the 1980s when we were farming and sold our wares at the fair. More recently, we have been volunteering as chairs of the Green Team, responsible for moving the fair ever-closer to the goal of Zero Waste.
It is especially exciting this year that the community once again will be able to come together to celebrate and support our local farmers. This is such a joyful event, benefitting the City of Sebastopol in so many ways. The local economy has suffered during the pandemic, and the return of the fair will help ease that effect on local businesses by bringing the community together and by bringing visitors to Sebastopol.
We especially encourage you to support the traffic mitigation plans for the fair by authorizing the use of the Sebastopol Police Department so that residents and visitors alike can safely enjoy the weekend.
