Hi Mary,
Public Comment to the City Council for today's meeting.

Thank you,
Suzanne
Public Comment
As a Volunteer RN, and a Retired Sebastopol Nurse, I am sometimes approached by Sebastopol people who are Homeless, or live at Horizon Shine with limited means, or who live elsewhere in Sebastopol with extremely limited funds... Some have Medi-Cal.

Some are qualified for Medi-Cal, but haven't yet done the paperwork...

The Urgent Care Practice in town is well liked, and I appreciate having them in Sebastopol. They take private insurance, Medicare, and possibly private pay...But they DO NOT take Medi-Cal.

My Public Comment is related to Urgent Care at the Sebastopol Hospital..When the Hospital was sold, Sebastopol residents knew we would no longer have an Emergency Department because of the expense...But we were told we would have Urgent Care 7 days /week... I don't remember the exact hours, but daytime and into the evening...

We were told Urgent Care closed with the onset of Covid19. Initially this seemed reasonable for protection of other patients in the Hospital.

I think the Hospital Urgent Care should reopen!
Appropriate precautions can be taken... Press Democrat mentions 82% of Sonoma County residents have been vaccinated..

Of course there is still some Covid19 risk, but not as much risk as in the beginning... I think it's basically under control..With appropriate precautions, please consider recommending reopening the Hospital Urgent Care.

Thank you,
Suzanne Lande
