To Mayor Slater and City Council Members,
I’ve just become aware of the precipitous decision the council intends to take concerning our fire department, as well as a projected $300 tax increase on property owners.
Reading the letter from the volunteer fire department, it seems you haven’t given them - or we property owners - both the time and full information on the issue.
It seems, in short, that the council is being quite high-handed, and not presenting its due diligence to the community.
I urge you to reconsider your apparently hasty decision and open this important issue up to the Sebastopol community at large, whom you
represent.
