Hiease Forward my public comment to our Sebastopol City Council.
Thank you,

It's so hot today in Sebastopol... 102 degrees fahrenheit this afternoon, per Weather Underground...
For the hottest days, does it make sense to set up a cooling center for extreme heat hours? We live in a great town, and there are some alternatives already...The library, air conditioned grocery stores, parks with restrooms...Rialto...Senior Center...
But more choices are needed for Homeless People in our town, people living in any sort of vehicle on wheels, and people living in modest homes without means to cool their homes.
In the past, a large canopy has been suggested for IVES Park for extreme heat... With cold water, possibly juice, and small snacks for people for brief respite...
Covid precautions...
Possibly other ideas will come up?
Thank you,
Suzanne Lande
Arthur George, and maybe others, mentioned the need may simply be for extreme heat afternoons... We may not need overnight...
