Subject: Pre-Qualified Consultants List
Dear Sir/Madame:

It is with great pleasure that we submit our qualifications for the pre-qualified consultants list.

Interactive Resources has been providing architectural design, structural engineering, historic preservation and planning services for 49+ years, and because of the following.

Experience with public agency on-call contracts – We have extensive experience, with nearly 50 consecutive years, of serving federal, state, and local agencies throughout California and the greater Bay Area. Our many satisfied clients include BART, AC Transit, the U.S. General Services Administration, the U.S. Postal Service, the State of California, Department of General Services, the Judicial Council of California, nearly all Bay Area County facilities departments, and municipal government agencies. We have a record of receiving high performance ratings from our public agency clients.

Successful performance record – Our team has successfully completed hundreds of projects under on-call A/E contracts including all design and construction phases for new facilities and the rehabilitation, maintenance, and repair of existing facilities. We provide building evaluations, structural and seismic evaluations and upgrades, space planning, interior design and tenant improvement design. In addition to the typical A/E services, our firm also has extensive experience in roof repair and design, building envelope, waterproofing and weatherization, window replacements, ADA accessibility upgrades, electrical and mechanical upgrades, historic preservation, and correctional and security consulting specialization.

Project leadership – I will be the principal-in-charge and main point of contact for this contract.

I have managed the firm’s A/E on-call contracts for the last 9 years, and I will add my technical expertise, provide contract, and team oversight, as well as quality control. We have several architects and structural engineers that can provide project management for many types of projects.

Sustainable design – At Interactive Resources, we have a strong commitment and long history of incorporating sustainable design and energy efficiency into our projects, including completed projects that are LEED Silver and Gold level. Our staff includes several LEED Accredited Professionals.

Our team is enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with the City of Sebastopol, and we strongly believe in our ability to provide exemplary services to the City.

Sincerely,

I have worked with Interactive Resources on high profile projects for West Contra Costa Unified School District, and was consistently impressed with the quality of their work. Mr. Butt, as Principal in Charge, was very involved in key aspects of the work, and his team provided strong technical detailing, while also meeting client expectations on budget management. The work was always completed on time. The team was responsive, always answered my calls and emails and it was a pleasure to work with the firm. I would highly recommend them for projects including full architectural/engineering, and specialized forensic and waterproofing work. — William (Bill) Savidge, K12 School Facilities

County of Mendocino Health and Human Services Yokayo Building Front Canopy Investigation & Repair Design, Ukiah, CA
This project started as a water intrusion related failure investigation of a wood framed and stucco-clad canopy that covered the entire front façade of the building. Because of extensive damage to the existing canopy and changing functional needs, the project transitioned into replacement of most of the entire canopy with metal awnings. Only the entrance canopies were retained, extensively repaired and reroofed. As part of the project, the entire walkway and portions of the parking lot were replaced to correct accessibility deficiencies. We worked with a landscape design firm on this project, and new functional landscaping makes the building more inviting and provides shade from the western afternoon sun.

The original scope was expanded from a repair to a full removal and replacement with new site work and landscaping. Schematic design, construction documents, cost estimates and Construction Administration were provided on schedule and budget.

Frank Hagel Federal Bldg. Plaza Investigation/Repairs, Richmond, CA The Social Security Administration is the main tenant and suffered from ongoing water intrusion into the basement from the plaza above. General Services Administration (GSA) retained us to investigate and report on the feasibility of repairing the leaks. Our feasibility study, based on site visits/inspections, testing determined that the cause of water intrusion was the pervasive failure of the West Plaza waterproofing membrane. We prepared a final report that included a summary of our findings and estimated replacement costs based on various paving systems for the replacement. Additionally, an investigation of the East, North and South plazas was performed, and construction documents were prepared for the repair design.

We worked with a landscape architect to design the pavers that were dry laid in a unified and contemporary pattern for easy replacement and movability.

Updated seating options were arranged. Bands of wide circular planters are in all the plazas as a means of softening the spaces with plant life —mostly all native, drought-resistant plant palette.

Santa Ana Federal Building Facade Repair, Santa Ana, CA GSA retained Interactive Resources to conduct a water infiltration investigation of the underground parking, leased tenant space, plaza and 9th floor curtain wall at the federal building. The granite cobble stone plaza and planters leaked into the underground parking and into the detention cells below. The curtain wall surrounding windows of the ninth floor appeared to be disintegrating due to water intrusion. We prepared a waterproofing feasibility study that included an extensive site survey and inspection of the entire façade, field analysis and destructive demolition. Then we prepared construction documents for the repair design, specifications and drawings for all needed repairs, and cost estimates.
