BACKGROUND:
The Matrix Consulting Group was retained by the City of Sebastopol to review the current fire service delivery system and to examine the feasibility of alternative delivery systems. This Study Session will discuss the results.
DISCUSSION:
This item is an informational presentation and discussion of the report. A final action is not proposed for this meeting. Council action for direction to the Staff will be conducted at a future City Council Meeting. It is requested that the Council Receive the Presentation/Results of the Study; Ask Questions of Consultant; Receive Public Comment and Provide Council Comments to city staff. Council action for direction to the Staff on the Future of the Sebastopol Volunteer Fire Department will be conducted at a future City Council Meeting. Tonight’s item is to receive the Final Report from Matrix.
GOALS:
This item relates to City Council Goal 5: Provide open and responsive Municipal Government Leadership PUBLIC COMMENT:
As of the writing of this staff report, the City has not received any public comment. However, if staff receives any public comment from interested parties following the publication and distribution of this staff report, such comments will be provided to the City Council as supplemental materials before or at the meeting. In addition, public comments may be offered during the public comment portion of the agenda item.
PUBLIC NOTICE:
This item was noticed in accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act and was available for public viewing and review at least 72 hours prior to scheduled meeting date.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no direct fiscal impact associated with the recommended action tonight. A final action is not proposed for this meeting. Council action for direction to the Staff on the Future of the Sebastopol Volunteer Fire Department will be conducted at a future City Council Meeting.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council Receive the Presentation/Results of the Study; Ask Questions of Consultant; Receive Public Comment and Provide Council Comments to city staff.
