Dear Council Members,
I live in the City of Sebastopol and do not support the annexation of the Sebastopol Fire Department by the Gold Ridge District.
I just paid the second installment of my property taxes and I want my money to go to OUR fire service not another entity that our city does not control.
I ask that the City Council commit to funding our Fire Department and commit to using vehicle replacement funds toward vehicle replacement.
Consolidation doesn’t have to be done right now. There are 3 new council members who need to spend much time on this very important issue - probably the MOST important issue of their time in office. Once this is voted for, there is no going back.
I would hope that you have all read the document by the former and current Fire Chief. Our last City Council could have saved $50,000.00 that was used to pay a consultant and not ignored the expertise, experience, and advice from the experts that work everyday at our fire station.
Please vote no on annexation.
